<<Here is a nice example of a 1955-S Lincoln cent struck on an Improper Alloy Mix planchet. Brassy-gold streaks dominate the obverse of the coin while the reverse is more subdued. This is the nicest one I've seen on a 1955-S with is a date where I've seen many other nice examples of this error type. In fact the second nicest example I've seen was also on a 1955-S that I sold years ago and later wished that I would have kept. I found this one at the table of Richard Bateson of Michigan at the MSNS Fall Convention. These are often referred to as a "woodie.">>
